ftpget and ftpput

hi as you may know ftpget and ftpput are only able to send one file at a time, unfortunately im only able to use them on my server
so to transfer file faster id like to open a dialog box so select multiple files
and then automate the output commands which look like this

ftpget -u username -p password IPADDRESS destination source

ftpput -u username -p password IPADDRESS destination source

the problem is that i cant find a way to open a dialogbox with multiple file select and to use the files selected as variables
if you could help that would be really apreciated
thanks

Hi Meekaah,

Thanks for your question.

These forums are designed to answer questions for VanDyke software products.

In this case, you may want to check the forums at sourceforge.net as this may have already been answered there. If not, posting there may provide the answers needed.

Hi Meekaah,

Ftpget and ftpput are not programs that we support as they are not VanDyke Software products.

These are programs installed on the remote server and can be run during the terminal session created by CRT.

The programs should be supported by the company or organization that created them. In this case, this would be sourceforge.

I have used these programs previously but have not attempted to perform multiple file transfers in one command line so I do not have any information that I could pass along to you for this case. For these types of transfers, I use our (VanDyke Software's) command line utilities.

Edit:

Just to make certain that I did not miss something in your request, are you looking to script this command on the remote using CRT's scripting?

well...

well..actually i dont think im expressing my self right, the ftpget and ftpput dont allow multiple file transfer, the only thing i want to do is for my script to type a new command for each file selected in a dialog box...nothing to do with their company or developper support.
i just want to send to the terminal a command line thats all...well anyways thanks for replying

Hi Meekaah,

Thanks for the clarification!

Depending on how the filenames are stored, this might be possible in CRT using its scripting objects.

What dialog contains the file names that you wanted to pass to the command line?

Is it a file listing in CRT?

Could you tell me the process currently being used to determine what files are to be transferred?

well ftpget and ftpput connect to a ftpserver to download the files
the only thing i need to pass the command out onto CRT is the filenames i select wich will be in the root of the server so i dont need the whole path just the filenames

i already wrote a stupid script which prompts the user in text boxes for ip address of the server, its username password, source filename like "file.txt", and destination file like "/webroot/file.txt"

so instead of entering them manually well you know id like to juste select the filename through the dialogbox and put it in the command

for example if the filename variable would be like filevar

id outpout to crt

crt.Screen.Send "ftpget -u username -p password 192.168.0.2 "
crt.Screen.Send "/webroot/
crt.Screen.Send filevar
crt.Screen.Send " "
crt.Screen.Send filevar & vbCr

you see wat i mean

Hi Meekaah,

It sounds like the user will not be manually entering the filename themselves.

Is this correct?

If so, where would the filenames be coming from (text file, user highlights name in the CRT terminal, etc)?

Hi Meekaah,

It may be possible via scripting depending on where the files are located.

Are the files on the local machine (the machine that CRT is installed on)?

If not, could you tell me more about where the files are located and where the files are being transferred to?
