session defaults not followed by quick connect
When using quick connect, the default session settings are not followed. I end up with the default black on white setup.
Don't know if this is a long running issue or not, since this is the first time I try this, but this is with this version: Version 5.1.0 (build 254) - Beta Release - March 2, 2006 -Mathieu |

Hello mathieul,
That does not sound like a long standing problem, but certainly sounds like a problem in the beta version. Which settings have you made to the Default Session which are not used in Quick Connect?

I changed the
- font (that looked like the right font, but the properties screen was still showing the wrong font) - put the background to "Traditional". That didn't take. - set the anti-idle to NO-OP, that didn't take. -Mathieu |

Auto-save options is on.
Right now, if I go into global options/default sessions/edit default settings, everything is as I would like. But if I do a quick-connect, only the font looks like its gotten from the default, but if I open the properties, it all looks like I didn't change the default settings at all. |

Hi Mathieul,
Lets take a step back here. I would like to try to reproduce exactly what you are seeing but I am uncertain of the exact steps that you took and the exact changes that were made that caused this issue. Could you provide me a step by step list of the exact steps that you took to make these changes, what was changed and if anything was changed in the 'Quick Connect' dialog? With this list, I should be able to reproduce exactly what you are experiencing and find out what is happening.

I just reproduced the problem with the following steps:
(btw, I have auto-save options set to on) - Go to global options/general/default sessions - Click on edit default settings - Go into terminal/appearance and change the scheme to something that is totally different from the current setup. - Click ok to all dialog. - Do a quick connect to some server. The new tab looks as if you never changed the default session. - Go back to the "edit default settings" dialog, the setting you just changed is still there. So quick-connect doesn't follow it. - Quit securecrt, then restart it, - Do a quick-connect, same thing seems to happen, the "default settings" say one thing, the quick-connect does another. |

Hi Mathieul,
Thanks for the great step by step setup. I used your steps here on all 3 beta versions of SecureCRT 5.1 but was not able to reproduce what you are describing. Which version of SecureCRT is installed? It could be that I do not have other default settings set to the same values as the default session on this machine. Could you tell me if 'ANSI Color' is enabled in the 'Emulation' sub-category under 'Terminal' in the 'Session Options' for the default session? If it is, do you see the behavior you described if this is disabled? If it is not enabled, would it be possible to get a copy of the default session so I can use it for testing? The default.ini file is located in the 'Sessions' folder inside the configuration folder. The location of the configuration folder is listed in the 'Configuration folder' data field in the 'General' category of the 'Global Options'. Once found, could you email me the .ini file to support@vandyke.com with the subject of ATTN: Teresa Forum Thread 1319?
