Global Command History in SCRT client?

let's say I've entered a command in one of my SecureCRT tabs and for some reason I would like to reuse this command again (in another tab, in another user context, in a different shell ...)

Is there any way to make a "reuse last command" happen (Button, Shortcut etc ...)? Is there a SecureCRT feature helping me with that?

Hi Curzon Dax,

I can't think of anything available presently, unless you are using v8.7, where we introduced Command Manager so you would have easy access to all your favorite commands.

Changes in SecureCRT 8.7 (Beta 1) -- November 20, 2019
New features:

  • Windows: Added support for a Command Manager, which allows commands to be saved and organized within folders. Commands that can be saved include: sending strings, executing menu functions, running scripts, and running local applications. Also, button bars, including the buttons on the button bar, can be copied to the Command Manager and vice versa.

Also, if you were to use Command Window for sending your commands (even if only to active session), it would make the below feature request that I'm going to add this thread to relevant.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database to offer a global (persistent) history buffer for the command window. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include Feature Request - Forum Thread #14075 in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.
