Local command history
Does SecureCRT have support for local command history?
I often work with switches which preserve command history within a live session. When I reconnect I lose all my previous typed commands. I would like to have a way to store typed commands (in encrypted file). |

Hi mrbeeye,

Would this be a logging feature that recorded all commands you typed in the SecureCRT terminal window and/or command window? Or just a separate "command manager" similar to the Session Manager?

Both. All typed commands would go to "command manager" for later reuse and they'd be saved to (encrypted) file as well. How else you'd able to reuse a command you typed yesterday (I assume SecureCRT does not run 24x7)?

Hi mrbeeye,
I have added this thread to two feature requests in our product enhancement database:

It has passed almost three years, why this has not been implemented yet? Lately I cannot find a major feature or improvement in past versions of SecureCRT.

There are a number of factors we use to determine which features will get implemented. Some of these factors are:
The Command Manager is currently in pre-beta testing on Windows only. If you would be interested in trying it, please email me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com. Maureen |

Unless they're encrypted it's useless for me. The encryption is a must these days.

I'm not sure when or if we will implement this request since you're the only customer who has requested it so far. If we did implement it, one possible way to do it would be to use the configuration passphrase to encrypt the commands that are stored on disk. Would an implementation like that work for you?
