Hi Perlish,

We have had many requests to create a version of SecureCRT for Linux.

I have added this post to the request for SecureCRT for Linux in our feature request database. If this version is created in the future, a post will be made here.

If you would prefer to be contacted via email, please send me a message referencing this forum thread (# 2077).

Can we get an update on this? Is there a possibility that we'll see a Linux version of SecureCRT for sale sometime soon? Since VanDyke is porting SecureCRT to the Mac, does that mean you're using a cross-platform toolkit, like Nokia's Qt, so that you'll be able to provide a Linux version at the same time? I'm ready to buy it.

Matt,

Thanks for following up on this.

At this time, our plan is to release a Linux and MacOS version at the same time. A release date has not been set yet.

Any news on a Mac / Linux Release?

I am chomping at the bit for this release. Its ironic to me that there really seems to be no good emulator with both tabs and session storing on the linux platform with the same concept layout as SecureCRT.

Any word on a release date?

Hello,

Thanks for posting - tabs and session management are so helpful it's hard to go without them. There's not an official release date set, but if you fill in our feature request form or send e-mail we will make sure we let you know as soon as something is available.

SecureCRT for Linux!

I have been following this request since 2007.

Many people are using linux derivatives like Ubuntu. For every post here there are 100+ people out there not posting who would like to have a SecureCRT for Linux.

Please address this issue.

Thanks for posting, Glasairmell. I've recorded your request in our product enhancement database and we'll post a follow-up message here if a Linux version of SecureCRT becomes available. If you would like e-mail notification, please let us know and refer to forum post 2077.

We expect SecureCRT for Linux pre-beta testing to begin in Q4 of this year. Something will get posted here when a public beta is available. If you're using Ubuntu Linux and are interested in pre-beta testing, please e-mail me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.

We don't have a target date for the beta yet, but it is expected to be later this year. Are you interested in Ubuntu or other distribution(s)?
