SecureFX 4 suggestions

Hello all.

I've been using SecureFX 4 for about a week now & love the new transfer queue function.

I have a few suggestions - what do you think?
  • A way to resize the 'transfer queue' box
  • Drag & drop into the queue (as well as - drag & drop into the queue while files are either downloading or are queued).
  • Lastly - tabs? I attached a little photo-chop mockup. It's a combo of UltraEdit & SecureFX

Thanks & keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for posting these requests and for the mockup screenshot. I have added them to our development database for consideration in a future version of SecureFX.

I'd love feedback from others about toloughlin's requests or new requests, especially for the transfer queue, which is a work in progress.

As usual toloughlin is on top of it. I think all of his suggestions are very good. In fact, UltraEdit is in my top 5 programs that I use(along with SecureCRT/SecureFX) and I think the tabs would be sweet. Good job on the mockup toloughlin! I'd like to request being able to configure which columns are displayed in the transfer queue window.

Spiffy - long time no forum-chat!

Thanks for the comments - and I agree with the customizable columns.

Cheers!

I have another suggestion.

The ability to right-click an item in the transfer queue ... and cancel/remove it. Right now, it's 2 steps.

Something like right-click:
cancel & remove all
cancel & remove selected ...

Thoughts?

The "Cancel and remove selected" makes sense to me, but the since "Cancel and remove all" is a potentially dangerous operation, we would add a prompt, which means it would still require 2 clicks. Since you've been using the transfer queue window, how often have you wanted to be able to do a "Cancel and remove all"?

I have added all the requests suggested by you and Spiffy to our development database. We've started implementing dragging to the queue for the next version (post 4.0) for SecureFX. I'll let you know when we have something for you to try.

This has also been implemented in SecureCRT 4.1, which is in pre-beta testing. If you'd like to try it, please send e-mail to me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.
