SecureCRT - ASCII Transfer
Is it possible to pre-set the Path and File type when sending ASCII files in SecureCRT? I transfer files regularly to a system and each time I have to change the default directory it looks in and always have to change the file type from *.txt to something else. Thanks.

Hi monolog99,
With regards to source directory, once you have drilled into that directory, SecureCRT should use that for as long as SecureCRT is open. It's only when you close SecureCRT that it resets to the default Documents directory. Is that the behavior you are seeing? Or is the use case that you have many different directories to use as the source? The default current working directory cannot be changed at this time, but I have added this thread to the following feature requests in our product enhancement database:

ASCII File Transfer
Hi Brenda,
Many thanks for the reply. Will keep an eye out to see if those features get added. The behaviour you describe is exactly what I'm getting - for the duration of the session it is fine - I just have to change each time I open SecureCRT. Being able to change the default directory and default file type would be a really nice. Cheers, Tim. |

Hi monolog99,
Our script guru decided an example script would be worthwhile as a workaround for both these issues. See attached. The first argument supported is telling the script where to start the browser. The second argument supported is telling the script what file filter to use.
