SSH certificate support

Does SecureCRT support SSH certificates (not X.509, a la OpenSSH) as either client certs or to verify the server's public key?

Hi cgaspar,

Do you mean trusted OpenSSH certs? If so, yes, since v8.3:

Changes in SecureCRT 8.3 (Beta 1) -- September 21, 2017
-------------------------------------------------------
New features:

  • SSH2: Added the ability to use OpenSSH certificates for authenticating SSH2 sessions.

Great - and support for validating server certificates? I don't see any place to add a server CA cert...

Hi cgaspar,

No, sorry, not presently.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for the ability to verify/accept OpenSSH trusted certs as host keys. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include Feature Request - Forum Thread #13980 in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.
