Hello Madhu,

Currently these captions (window title and tab name) cannot be set independently when renaming them in SecureCRT's GUI.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our development database for the ability to give user more control over what the title bar or tab title contains.

With regards to scripting, I have also added this thread to a feature request in our development database for the ability to set window and tab captions independently via scripting.

Should a future release of SecureCRT include either feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #5777" in the subject line.

As a note, if you just want to set the window title at startup and intend for it to remain static, you can launch SecureCRT with the /TitleBar option.

For example:
SecureCRT.exe /TitleBar "MyNewTitle"

So if you had a certain amount of instances where you desire to set the window title at startup and not have it be changed, you could create shortcuts that set the window title as exemplified above.

Support for setting tab and window bar captions independently has been added to a pre-beta version of SecureCRT. Please email me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com if you would like to try it.
