Mapping Ctrl+Alt+something keys in SecureCRT Windows

Hi,

I'm using SecureCRT 8.7.1 (x64 build 2171) - Official Release - March 17, 2020 on Windows 10. I'm trying to map Ctrl+Alt+Left Arrow and Ctrl+Alt+Right Arrow to move between open tabs. Clicking on "Map key" in Terminal Emulation -> Mapped Keys -> Map a key, or, even, specifying the key combo visually by clicking the keys on the keyboard in Tools -> Keymap editor doesn't work with Ctrl+Alt keys. Is there any trick to do this?

Thanks in advance

Hi iotf,

No, that worked for us with the "in-session way" of mapping keys. So you say the Map Key dialog is there awaiting your pressing of the key combo right?

And you press those three keys and what happens? Nothing?

Could there be any other app that has taken those keys so that SecureCRT is not recognizing they are pressed?

Can you map to any key combination? (What about Ctrl+Shift+Arrow?)

Hi Brenda,

thank you for your response.

I was able to identify the issue: I was accessing the server running SecureCRT via RDP connection. Digging into this showed, that RDP eats the Ctrl+Alt+Arrow keys. So, it's not the issue of SecureCRT. Thank you very much for your idea of checking whether something else might intercept keys and sorry for bothering you with issue not related to SecureCRT.

Best regards
