Client Pack help file location
Hi,
I am a new user of VanDyke and am trying to find the client pack help file but don't see it. VanDyke client pack is installed and licensed. I'm not seeing a C\Program Files\VanDyke Software\... folder as Eric talks about below. Thanks, Pat Probably the easiest resource to get started is the ClientPack help file. This is located in the installation directory. By default it would be located at: C:\Program Files\VanDyke Software\ClientPack Locate the file named ClientPack.chm and double click it. This should open the ClientPack help. You will most likely want to being with the Overview of VCP. The overview will include several examples of how to use VCP to both upload and download files. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any specific questions I can help answer. ------ Eric Koranyi VanDyke Software Technical Support support@vandyke.com 505-332-5730 |

Hi ugpvoltage,
If ClientPack was installed to a non-default location we will first need to locate the installation directory. One easy way to do this is to open the Windows CMD window and use the 'where' command. where vshThis should return the installation directory. The help file for ClientPack (ClientPack.chm) will be located inside the installation directory. There is a chance that these same tools (VSH, VCP) were installed as part of the VShell application rather than as part of ClientPack. If this is the case the help file will be named VCLU.chm. Using this information are you able to locate the needed help file? Note: The default install location can vary, installing with/without Admin privileges changes the default install location. With Admin Rights: C:\Program Files\VanDyke Software\ClientPack Without Admin Rights: C:\Users\<Your User>\AppData\Local\VanDyke Software\ClientPack
