Can SecureCRT remember the private key password?
We've had to switch to using Publickey authentication to log into our web servers and I admit I don't fully understand it all, but there's one niggle with SecureCRT.
When I try to login, it asks "Enter a password to decrypt the private key" which is fair enough, but is there any way for it to remember that so next time I start up SecureCRT it doesn't ask again? Having several servers and a complicated key password means I've got to store it in an easy to reach text file, thus kindof reducing any security...although at least it's not a post-it note ![]() Version is 7.0.3 build 480 Trev |

Hello Trev,
If you use the same public key on more than one server then I believe the option you are looking for is Add keys to agent. If you open Global Options / SSH2 and enable Add keys to agent, you should only need to type your private key's passphrase once (for any particular private key). Does that option help you?
