Hi Mahesh,
I am not sure what it is you are asking. Are you attempting to get SecureCRT 5.5.2 to work with Pageant? If so, I am not aware of a way to accomplish this. If not, what do you want to actually accomplish in SecureCRT? What program was used to create the public/private key pairs? What is the format of the public/private key pairs? |

Hi
I want to connect a host by using Secure CRT 5.5.2 . I think that server will verify the both public and private keys. By using PuttyGen we generated both public and private keys . These files are in PPK format Thanks & Regards Mahesh Kumar M |

Hello Mahesh,
Currently, SecureCRT does not recognize the proprietary PPK format that Putty uses. I have created a feature request in our SecureCRT development database to add this capability. Should a future release of SecureCRT have this capability we will post to this forum thread. If you would like to be notified directly, please complete and submit the form at the following location: Submit Feature RequestTo use a PPK format key, it must first be converted to an OpenSSH style key using puttygen. After you have converted the key, you should have a public and a private key file. You can place those files in the same location on the computer, and configure SecureCRT to use them for authentication in the Authentication section of the Connection / SSH2 category. Does this help to answer your question? |

The ability to use a PuTTY PPK file for public-key authentication has been added to a pre-beta version of SecureCRT. If you'd like to try it, please send email to Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.
