Yes, it require credentials, but how to give it that? The line just after the hanging ling, is the "mailMsg.login(..." where I provide the credentials, but the script never reach that line. It hangs in the line before... the mailMsg = smtplib.SMTP(..."

I have several things attached to the mail service I am using into this script. I cannot change it. Anyway I have tried with others but the behavior is the same. The others hang in the same line.

Hi Tonatiuh,

I have reached the limit of my expertise with the Python smtplib module.

If I had more knowledge about the Python smtplib module, I would happily offer it.

You will need to seek other resources for assistance in getting the Python smtplib module to work with GMail.

Hi all,

I wanted to let you know the __socket module should be available as of SecureCRT v9.0, currently in beta 1 release, since this support was added:

Changes in SecureCRT 9.0 (Beta 1) -- September 24, 2020
New Features:

  • Windows: Added support for Python 3. Python 3.8(available at python.org) must be installed and the script's first line must be: # $language = "python3". Since support for Python 3 is provided through an external module, Python 3 libraries can be used in SecureCRT scripts.

Note that this is Windows only support at this time. In fact, we released beta 1 installers *only* for Windows. We hope to include all platforms in later releases.
