SecureCRT slow tab switch

Hello,

hope someone can help me.
RUnning latest SecureCRT and for some reason as soon as Iconnected to a VPN on my local terminal the TAB switch between differnet session/host in secureCRT gets slow. Takes about 30s to change from on tab to another on.

Have already tried to delete whole packet but even with fresh installation it is slow after I connected to my VPN.

Hi flatron-815,

I am sorry to hear about the issue that is occurring.

You are running SecureCRT on Ubuntu OS?

What is the specific Ubuntu version?

We suspect it might be an issue with CUPS.

Disabling CUPS can be done temporarily by entering these commands in the local terminal shell:

sudo systemctl stop cups.service
sudo systemctl stop cups.socket
sudo systemctl stop cups.path

CUPS can be re-enabled by issuing the same commands replacing 'stop' with 'start'. For example:

sudo systemctl stop cups.service
sudo systemctl stop cups.socket
sudo systemctl stop cups.path

Does disabling CUPS temporarily change the behavior for you on your system?

Hi Krisztian,

What SecureCRT version/build specifically do you have installed?

I heard from a customer last week that v8.3 beta 4 release (available here) resolved the issue for him, but he was on Ubuntu 16.x.

Hi Brenda,

I had the 8.1.4-1443.
After upgrading to the 8.3.0-1509 beta, still have the issue. Disabling cups can be still a workaround, however I hope you find a solution soon.

Thanks and regards,
Krisztian

Hi Krisztian,

Thanks for the update. I don't know if the difference is the OS then. I will update the bug report and we will post here if the developers have any further questions or can provide some insight on the issue.

Still not fixed

I am running version 8.3.0 Build 1514 and I am getting a popup constantly saying this program is hung do you want to kill it or wait when I try to connect to new connections or switch tabs. Brenda I believe I was the one that told you it was resolved on the beta and it did seem to be resolved at first but it has come back with a vengeance since then.
