SecureCRT font changes not applying
When picking a different font options including font and font size, but possibly other, nothing changes.
I noticed this when trying to configure a session for UTF-8 so that is supports the characters displayed by "systemctl status" on debian linux 8.1 box. SecureCRT version 7.3.1 on Windows XP |

Hi Killing,
What specific steps are you taking to change the font? Do you have multiple tabs open when trying to make the change? If so, are you trying to make the change to a secondary tab? |

I doing the following:
1. File -> Connect 2. Select Session and click Properties 3. Terminal Appearance -> Edit font -> OK 4. Click Connect Yes I have about 20 sessions already open, none of them are from the session being edited though. Last edited by Killing; 09-04-2015 at 10:36 AM. |

Thanks Killing.
Session Geometry is determined by the first or primary tab. This includes rows, columns, font, etc. If you make the change to a session, and open that session as the first tab, do you see the change you expect? |

I used send to new window and instantly the font changes applied.
Is there any plans to fix this, as it very confusing to have to have different windows just to have differ fonts in effect all I wanted to do was to enable UTF-8 and I spent ages banging my head against this problem before posting. Even if this is a requirement for the tabbed interface then when a session is started in the none primary tab with appearance settings that don't match the primary tab, you could display a warning and even present the option to start in a new window. This would prevent users getting really confused about why the settings are not working. Thanks for fix though ![]() |

Hi Killing,
Todd is not available. Thanks for the feedback. I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database to allow independent row, column and font configuration in tabbed sessions (and if tabbed sessions are sent to new window). Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here. If you prefer direct email notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #12090" in the subject line.

Hi Killing,
Some time ago you expressed interest in having the ability to maintain the font/character encoding/zoom level specific to each session when launching sessions in tabs in SecureCRT. We have recently implemented this functionality in SecureCRT 9.0 beta 1 (for Windows). Prior to this release, the first session opened would dictate the font/character encoding/zoom level for any subsequent sessions launched in tabs. Should you wish to test out the new behavior, please refer to the following link to download SecureCRT 9.0 beta 1: https://www.vandyke.com/download/securecrt/beta.htmlWe would be happy to hear any feedback regarding how well (or not) the newer behavior meets your needs! Please send an email to support@vandyke.com with any questions or concerns that you may have about 9.0 beta 1!
