retain scroll back from previous session

The windows version of SecureCRT can retain the scroll back info from previous sessions. With a network as variable as my wireless setup, I often lose a connection and have to re-login.

Is there a setting I can change on my Mac SecureCRT to retain the scroll back from previous sessions?

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the post. SecureCRT on Mac OS X does retain the scrollback if you get disconnected, and reconnect in the same tab.

What version of SecureCRT are you using?

What version of Mac OS X are you using?

It might also be a setting in your session. Please see the attached graphic.

Found the cause

The scroll back buffer would last between days for me using the Windows version of SecureCRT ( V4.1 ).

I just tested and realized that I was leaving SecureCRT open in Parallels on my Mac each night. So when I returned the next day, the scroll back buffer was retained.

On the Mac side I shut down SecureCRT each night and thus lose the scroll back buffer.

Any possibility that you could offer to save the scroll back buffer to disk at the end of the day and restore it the next day? It was really helpful to have it for reference. I'll look at logging to see if I can setup something similar using current options.

Thanks for creating the best SSH/Telnet tool.

Bob

Thanks for the update Bob.

It may be possible to save the scrollback buffer to a file and restore it in a future release of SecureCRT. This is not currently possible, but if we do add the ability, we will post to this thread.

If you would like to be notified directly, please complete and submit the form at the following location:
Submit Feature Request
For now, your best bet is likely the logging feature.
