Integration of Cloud-Storage in SecureFX

Hello,

we are i think all somehow in the way to some cloud. So it would be nice to have a little more integration with it. I'm mainly currently work inside Google Cloud, so i maybe don't see other needs also.
I have a lot file transfers to and from some buckets(gsutils are ). So it would be nice to have some tools inside SecureCRT/SecureFX to support this if i need something from outside the google universe.

By any possibility to get all kind of cloud-Storage to SecureFX?

S3 - AWS and generic(minio as example)
Backplaze B2
WebDAV
Google Cloud Storage
Open Stack Storage.
etc....

I like the combination of SecureCRT and SecureFX. But i think SecureFX should be more the it was in the current state. Make it to an all kind of file-transfer program, so we don't need any other. Make it to something, where we can access every kind of remote storage.

Regards
Ingo

Hi Ingo,

There are many, many similar feature requests along the lines you are referencing in our product enhancement database.

I've added this thread to the most popular (and inclusive) for SecureCRT:
  • Configuration management solution that supports multiple protocols (SMB, AFP, WebDav, etc.)
  • Support for synchronizing Config folder with dropbox (cloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.)

And SecureFX:
  • Add WebDAV support to SecureFX
  • Support for Amazon S3 "buckets" (simple storage services, cloud)
  • Support for direct file transfer connections to dropbox, carbonite, and other "cloud" destinations
Should a future release of SecureCRT/SecureFX include any of these features, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #13475" in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.

Hi IngoThierack,

I'm happy to report that our developers have now implemented initial support for this feature -- support for WebDAV as well as http/https protocols.

If you are interested in trying out this new WebDAV/HTTP/HTTPS protocol support please send an email to support@vandyke.com and reference "https support in SecureFX".

In the body of the email please indicate:
  • On which platform and version is your current version of SecureFX?

  • If Windows, do you need the 32-bit or 64-bit version of SecureFX?

  • What is the email address associated with your VanDyke Software download account? (If not writing us from that email address.)

Hi IngoThierack,

A while ago you requested that we add support for Amazon AWS S3 "buckets" in SecureFX. We have recently implemented S3 support in SecureFX 9.0 beta 1. Please refer to the following link, should you wish to test out this new functionality:
https://www.vandyke.com/download/securefx/beta.html
In order to connect to an S3 bucket, HTTPS must be specified as the transfer protocol and the HTTP logon parameters should set as described below:
Hostname: s3.amazonaws.com (or regional STS Endpoint)
Port: 443
Username: IAM user's Access key ID
Password: IAM user's Secret access key[/QUOTE]
Does the new functionality meet your needs as far as AWS S3 support is concerned?

If not, can you please elaborate on the behavior that you experience with beta and/or the functionality that you require that is lacking?
