Windows "default programs for file types" not honored by SecureFX

I have this problem since years and accross several versions of SecureFX and Windows (W7, W8): If I double-click a file in the local window, the file is not opened by the "default program" defined in Windows but by another application. If I right-click the file and choose "Open with", choose a program to use and select "Always use this program to open this type of file in SecureFX", this setting does not "stick", and I have to do this every time I need to open that file in my preferred program.

What is the extension for the files that give you problems?

Have you verified the Windows file associations configuration?

Regarding the "always use this program" setting not sticking, is there an entry in the File Transfer / File Types category of Global Options for the extension(s) in question?
