Connect dialog, slow scrolling

version 5.1.0 (build 260)

I have well over 100 entries in my connect dialog. When scrolling up or down there's one more of noticable pauses while it loads the list. It's really annoying. I've even made a handful of folders and dumped my profiles in there to speed things up, but as soon as you open a folder it pauses.

Hi Rmount,

I've run some test here with a session list of about 180 sessions but I cannot reproduce the delay that you mentioned.

However, I may have a setup that is not identical to yours.

Is the configuration/session database local to the machine or stored on a remote server?

The location of the configuration folder is listed in the 'Configuration folder' data field in the 'General' category of the 'Global Options'.

Were there more then 180 sessions in the list that was causing the slow down?

Do any of the sessions uses any files stored on a network share (like PublicKey files)?

Hi Teresa,

Everything's local, not stored on a server anywhere. The problem seems to be the worst when i first open SecureCRT. Also, i'm scrolling with my arrow keys or by typing the name of a session and having it find it as i type.

Hi Rmount,

I have entered an issue report with our developers to find out why the scrolling is so slow with that number of sessions.

As soon as I hear anything back from them, I will post here.

If you would prefer to be contacted via email, please send a message to support@vandyke.com with a subject of ATTN: Teresa Forum Thread 1350.

Hi Rob,

Our developers need some more information to find out what is happening.

Would it be possible to get a copy of your configuration?

This is stored in a configuration folder. The location of this folder is specified in the 'Configuration folder' data field in the 'General' category of the 'Global Options'.

Could you also provide more information on the system running SecureCRT?

Which operating system is installed?

Could you also tell me which processor is in the system?

How much RAM is installed?

Is the hard drive badly fragmented?

We would like to try to duplicate this on a system as close to yours as possible.

If you could just send this information to the email address I mentioned previously, this would really help to find out what is happening.
