Feature Request - SecureCRT

I know you can configure SecureCRT to log a session, but it would be nice if you had the ability to save what has already gone by. Something like a "File - Save Log As" or something. Right now I do a copy and paste into notepad but this seems so primitive.

I'd be interested in knowing more about the scenario(s) where this functionality would be useful to you. Also, I'd be interested to know why you would prefer this method over configuring the session to do logging.

I don't this is an either/or situation. I think turning logging on is a good thing, but sometimes you’re working in a session and things go flying by and I wish I was logging. For instance if I am doing TCP dumps on a remote firewall and suddenly something interesting goes by that I want to capture to look at in more detail. This is only one of several circumstances where I wish I had the ability to save the console log buffer that has gone by. I'm no programmer but I couldn't imagine this being a terribly difficult feature to implement. Thanks for asking.

This would be very useful when you're doing some routine maintenance and something goes wrong. Most of the time, I don't log my sessions because I have no need for it, but let's say I'm compiling a piece of software and the compile fails. THen it would be helpful to be able to save the current buffer so that I can contact the developer of the application and show them exactly what happened.

I can do that anyway by scrolling back and doing a copy/paste, but that's rather cumbersome. And it shouldn't be a difficult feature to add. So please add me to the list of people requesting this.

Thanks for the explanation of when this would be useful and for the additional request. I have added this to our development database for consideration in a future release.
