VShell and F-Secure

Hi -

new to this forum so go easy on me.

We have server #1 where VShell is running and handling some file transfers to various other servers. A new requirement now demands that we transfer files to a new server (#2) that is running F-Secure. My question is how to go about this and are there any pitfalls to consider? Should we use command line VSH, VSFTP, VCP? Can VShell communicate with F-Secure?

Hi Shane,

Thanks for the question. VShell is a server that handles incoming connections. VShell does include command-line clients that can establish outgoing connections. The vsftp and vcp command-line clients that are included with VShell can establish outgoing SFTP connections, so if your F-Secure server supports SFTPv3 to SFTPv6, you should be able to send files.

What would be the syntax to transfer files from server#1\path to server server#2\path using ID and password?

Hi Shane,

If you are using vcp, then you would use the following general syntax:

vcp [options] [[user@]host[#port]:]file [[user@]host[#port]:]file

If server#1 is local, then you would use something like the following:

vcp c:\localfile user@host:remote/path/file
