Select Button Bar through Command Line?

I know the 'Default' Button Bar is loaded unless a session specifies another.

Is there a command line option to choose the button bar?

Hi Rhudi,

Sorry, presently there is not.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for the ability to specify button bar via command-line. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #12568" in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.

However, you probably could via a script and run that script via the command-line. What version of SecureCRT are you using?

What, specifically, are you trying to accomplish?

Do you want to make ad hoc connections via the command-line with a button bar other than what is configured in Default Session?

When I connect to various types of devices, it would be convenient to have a button bar for that device.

I have these button bars defined presently, but stopped using pre-defined sessions for ad-hoc connections.

I've been able to even specify the log file parameters for those connections.

Hi Rhudi,

Version 7.2.x has the necessary object (SessionConfiguration) and methods (GetOption/SetOption) to accomplish the goal via scripting.

Once I know how to manipulate the Button Bar, I can complete the code I've posted here:

Go to the SecureCRT program files \ Config \ Sessions folder, then open up the configuration settings file in notepad. You'll see a list of all of the arguments.
