connection timeout control?

I have a user who is getting disconnected from our VSHELL server due to a timeout that I can't find a parameter for in the control panel.

The user is running CoreFTP as a client and is uploading files to our server. There are currently around 60,000 files in his directory and his client first downloads the entire list of files, then compares that to their local directory and sends the diffs to us. Unfortunately, it takes so long for his client to reconcile the differences, our server appears to be timing out the connection....

This version of VShell is fairly old. You may want to check your upgrade eligibility here or send the serial number to support@vandyke.com or orders@vandyke.com to be checked regarding any purchased upgrades.

By the above, do you mean the client is doing a listing, as opposed to file transfer?

Have you been able to determine the issue from reviewing the VShell log?

If not, could you send it to support@vandyke.com and include "Attn Brenda - Forum Thread #10101" in the subject line?

The client does a file listing, then compares the list of files to its own local directory. During the time it takes for the comparison, the server logs the client out.

I'm afraid we're stuck with the version we have.



Here's what I see in the log:

11:44:30,conn,12220: Received request to start subsystem sftp (Built-in Subsystem)
11:44:30,sftp,12220: Sftp subsystem initialized; remote version is 3.
11:44:30,sftp,12220: Sending VERSION packet to remote (3)
11:44:41,sftp,12220: Sftp subsystem terminated.
11:44:41,conn,12220: The transport closed cleanly, but there were still channels active.
All channels are being closed.

Please enable Debug in the Logging category of VShell's control panel.

If posting (or e-mailing) only the session, please be sure to get all entries from the session. The third field in the log is the session number.
