Strange text characters in SecureCRT

Hello,

I am using secureCRT to ssh into my newly CentOS 8 VM.

I am seeing these strange characters a lot. Mainly when I do a file transfer... or something is coming into the screen:

Do you have UTF-8 configured as the Character encoding in the Terminal / Appearance category of Session Options?

No, it was set to default under my Session Option.
Although it was set to UTF-8 in the Global Session Option, and I do not remember touching that setting.

I don't know what a Global Session Option is, but bottom line is:
