User and group session manager with SecureFX
I am new to SecureFx, and wanted to know if there was a way to have a session management with groups of users.
Essentially, if there was a group manager, or some way a OS group or security group could be configured, which would have a separate default session setting of its own (and users of group A could only authenticate via public key which is pre-selected, and users of group B could only use a pre-stored password etc.). Through checking options and other settings, while I am able to edit session settings, and make them persist across sessions, I cannot see how, if it's indeed possible, to tie these settings to perhaps a user / group session management (either of the OS or of SecureFx's own internal user management, if present...).. Any assistance in clarifying the above would be appreciated, thanks... |

Hi FxUserInfinity,
This sounds like restrictions that are usually imposed server-side, not client-side. What problem do you need to solve?

We have a portal from where users would need to log in to the SSH server.
Some users would need to log in using passwords, some using keys and some using a single key. If using keys, the user should not have to go looking for the key himself / herself, but the location should be pre-configured. Having played around with the tool a little bit, I suppose all this depends on global options and default session configurations, is that accurate? So assuming that template configurations for these different scenarios are prepared, and placed in user profiles for different users using the portal, and SecureFx be made to fetch the configuration file pertaining to that user, that the above may be achieved? |

Hi FxUserInfinity,

Or in the Authentication grouping of the SSH2 category, you can disable PublicKey auth in favor of Password if that's the desired scenario. Quote:
