Question Move private and public key from one pc to another

I'll be changing my laptops soon, and I currently have a private/public key combo that I use to get into the boxes. I've tried copying both identity and identity.pub to a different PC with same version of securecrt (5.0.3) installed, but the other comp does not see the files. Is there something I need to do?

Did you also copy your SecureCRT configuration folder to the new PC and make sure that SecureCRT is finding it? Let me know if you need instructions on how to do this.

I have moved the keys between various laptops and desktops without a problem in the past. However, I usually don't move my configuration file, so I have to go into SCRT manually and change the 'pointers'.

Good Luck!

I copied over the key files, and initiated a session successfully, but I do not see the Fingerprint info. I guess it works, but I want to be sure, cause it doesn't even see the file when I browse for it, I had to manually type it in.

That sounds a bit odd. When you say that you don't see the fingerprint info, is the Fingerprint field on the Public Key Properties dialog (or SSH2 page) blank? Are you setting it as a global public key or a session public key?
