Feature Request - PowerShell

PowerShell is becoming more and more useful within the daily tasks of system administration and it would be wonderful if a PowerShell window or tab could be available from within the SecureCRT application. This would allow for one single goto application for most administration tasks. It would also allow for one single repository to store scripts and easily access them for use.

Hi hazent,

Thanks for the question.

It may be possible to open a PowerShell window in a SecureCRT tab. I have created a feature request to add this capability, we will let you know.

How would having the ability to open a PowerShell window in a SecureCRT tab allow you to have a single repository for your scripts?

Currently, I keep all of my scripts that I run from within an ssh window in one location and run them from within SecureCRT. With the ability to record or run scripts from within SecureCRT in a PowerShell tab or window, I could store my PS scripts with the rest of my scripts. Even the ability to access them and run them from the script menu would be helpful. The ease of having a single utility that I could browse to and run a script would be a great time saver.

Hi hazent,

Thanks for the additional data. Are you saying you would like to run a PS script from the Script menu in SecureCRT if we added the ability to open PS in a tab?

If not, are you saying you want to be able to have a PS script use the SecureCRT API?

Local shell support has been added to SecureCRT 8.7*. CMD.exe, PowerShell, or any console application can be specified.

SecureCRT 8.7 is in beta. The installer can be downloaded here:
