SecureCRT 5.1b4 disappears when clicked in taskbar

When I start SecureCRT 5.1b4 and click it's icon in the Windows XP taskbar, the entire window disappears

The same thing happens when some other application has the focus, I click SecureCRT to call it to the front and by accident click the icon again.

In other words, when SecureCRT has the focus and receives a single click on it's icon in the taskbar, it disappears. With other applications, a (second) click when it's already active, minimizes it.

I find this quite annoying, since it's very easy to loose a vi editing session by accident.

Also, when SecureCRT is active and I do right mouse click (on the icon in the taskbar) > minimize, the window disappears.

Do you have minimize to Activator enabled in your Global Options -> General?
If so, there should be a little icon in your systray near the time.

Yes, and my sessions are still there Oh, is that how it works... I love the activator, but I find the disappearing windows quite unintuitive.

Minimize minimizes to the tray rather than to the taskbar. Is that how trayed applications usually work on Windows? Well, I guess I can get used to it. Thanks in either case.

Wow, I really butchered that instruction! Stupid touchpad (or lack of concentration).

I thought you could use the Activator, but the minimize to it, was an extra option. Hmmm...

You are correct. If you uncheck "Minimize to Activator in the system tray" in Global Options -> General, windows will remain in the taskbar when they are minimized.

Well, kinda ...

I think that I know what I was thinking ....

Some sessions can be set to go to the activator (session settings), you can do it globally for all sessions, or for none of them; keeping in mind that the first tab controls the entire window.

Yes, but that completely disables the functionality of the activator (remembering and re-using decrypted keys).

I really like the activator's functionality, but I find this aspect of the user interface somewhat confusing at first sight.
