How do I send "esc k cr" from the uparrow key?

I'm trying to map the uparrow key to the sequence "escape k carriage return" so that I can escape-k on an AIX ksh box. When I use the keymapper and enter esc, it makes the dialog go away.

I really need this, as esc-k is hard for me, owing to some dexterity issues.

Try entering:

\ek\r

If that doesn't work, please let us know.
