Deny download not working

I have VShell version 3.8. Under the virtual root path I only have the write option checked for files and list, create for Dir. According to the docs this should only allow uploads, I'm able to upload and download. I have even attempted to set perms on the file system to disallow. Any idea? We want this user to only be able to upload files to this one directory.

Hello bigmonkeyfish,

Please send the complete version number (3.8.#) and serial number from the About category in VShell's control panel to support@vandyke.com. Please include "Attn Brenda - Forum Thread #11389" in the subject line.

Is debug logging enabled in the Common / Logging category?

If not, please enable it, capture a session where you are able to upload *and* download and attach that to your email.

Since debug logs can contain sensitive data, please *do not* post the log in the public forum.

To any others that might view this thread:

This particular issue was due to an older SFTP client being used that was setting the Open Mode to read, write and create.

In such a scenario, where one of these permissions is disabled in VShell's Virtual Roots category (in this case, write was enabled, read was disabled), VShell must fail the request.
