Post Vandyke Securecrt 8.5 silent install Switch

Hello there everyone, so I am packaging up SecureCRT version 8.5.x using PowerShell and I wanted to confirm what is the Silent Install Switch for this application?

I ran the following command: scrt-x64.8.5.4.1942 /? and it showed me that if I wanted to install the application silently, use the following parameters /S /v /qn

I tried the above switch and it is still showing me the install window to click next. Can anyone share there thoughts/feedback if I have the correct switches?

Thank You

Hi Ghost360,

I think that your syntax is off just slightly. To install SecureCRT silently, open a command prompt, change directory (cd) to the location of the installer, and then type:
Code:
scrt-x64.8.5.4.1942 /s /v"/qn"
Are you able to silently install SecureCRT provided this syntax?

Thank you for the information, but after I posted the question I figured out how to grab the MSI Installer.

So the Silent Install switch for the MSI Installer is the following when it comes to using the PowerShell AppDeploy Toolkit: Execute-MSI -Action Install -Path "VanDyke Software SecureCRT 8.5.msi" -Parameters "/quiet /norestart"

Thanks all

Hi Ghost360,

It sounds like you were able to get to the bottom of it!

Can you please tell me more about your overall goal? Why are you using PowerShell to deploy SecureCRT?

Certain license purchases qualify for licensed deployment packages (exe, msi) provided by Vandyke Software. We do not discuss license details here in the public forums, so if you are interested in exploring this option please contact us directly: support@vandyke.com.
