Hi ikhiat,

SecureCRT does have the capability to honor escape sequences that tell it to change the title of the tab.

You can enable this capability by disabling the "Ignore window title change requests" option under the Session Options > Terminal > Emulation > Advanced category.

When this option is disabled, SecureCRT will then honor escape sequences that tell it to change the title of the tab. The exact name of the tab will differ depending on what exact escape sequences the remote host is using to tell SecureCRT what to display.

For example, when I connect to a certain Linux device with SecureCRT, the remote host sends

ESC]2;[user@localhost:~]BEL

...which tells my SecureCRT client to change its tab name to "[user@localhost:~]".

If you desire to learn how to change the environment variables on the remote host so that the remote host sends the "GCR12345" hostname you desire when ssh-ing to it (and so that SecureCRT will also change the tab name to match), please see this post on the topic.
