Feature Request: Smart card removal behavior

I would like to see a Windows GPO template or, at the least, a registry setting that allows network administrators to control the smart card removal behavior of SecureCRT.

Maybe something like:

Smart Card Removal Behavior:
1 - Do Nothing
2 - Disconnect Authenticated Sessions
3 - Freeze Authenticated Sessions

Here's my thinking,

Option 1 - Do Nothing / When the smart card is removed nothing changes in the session and the user can continue working.

Option 2 - Disconnect Authenticated Sessions / When the smart card is removed, all sessions authenticated with that card are terminated. It is possible to have multiple cards in one computer so CRT will need to track which sessions were authenticated with which cards.

Option 3 - Freeze Authenticated Sessions / When the smart card is removed, all sessions authenticated with that card are frozen (or locked). No input is accepted in the terminal and no output is displayed from the host. Once the card is re-inserted (and re-authenticated) any output from the host (assumingly in CRT's buffer) is updated on the screen and the user can continue working with the session.

I see more-and-more companies using SecureCRT so this might be a good time to start building GPO templates to control other areas that might be of interest to network administrators as well (such as preventing username/password saving, control which protocols are allowed, CAPI settings...etc)

We have added an administrative option so that removing the smart card causes connections that authenticated using the smart card get disconnected. This has been implemented in a pre-beta version of SecureCRT.

If you would like to try it, please email me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.
