Log activity in VShell Monitor?

Hello. I'm using VShell v4.04. I like having the VShell Monitor applicatoin, whereby I can see active connectoins in real-time. But other than these events being logged deeply along with other verbose stuff in the VShell logs, is there any way to break out the logging of users logging into VShell, as a separate data source or separate log? Just would be useful to report on.

Hi dverbern,

In your version, VShell can be configured to log to the W3C log file format. There are third party applications that can be used to analyze data logged in that format.

You can control the level of detail via the categories found in the Common / Logging category. I guess I am not really clear on what you are trying to accomplish. Do you want less detail than logging, but more than what Monitor shows?

Or just the ability for the Monitor info to be logged to a file?

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database to add ability to get detailed logging for a user from Monitor. Should a future release of VShell include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include Feature Request - Forum Thread #13635 in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.
