Changes in SecureFX 3.0 (Alpha) -- November 30, 2004

New features:
  • Added the ability to create multiple global firewalls, which can be used on a per-session basis.

Changes:
  • When SecureCRT is also installed, it is possible to launch SecureCRT and connect to specific sessions from SecureFX. This can be done from the Connect dialog.

Bug fixes:
  • SecureFX was not handling a 550 error from PWD as a return code, which resulted in failed transfers.
  • SecureFX crashed when a PWD command failed during a delete or rename.
  • Server to server transfer of a file failed when a directory was specified as the target.
  • SFXCL: When SFXCL prompted for a password, it displayed a dialog box.

Changes in SecureFX 3.0 (Alpha) -- December 14, 2004

New features:
  • Added support for a generic proxy.

Changes:
  • Only licenses issued on or after 12/1/03 are valid. Otherwise, an evaluation license will be generated.
  • When SecureCRT is also installed, more protocol combinations are allowed.

Bug fixes:
  • Under some circumstances, it was possible for remoted edit to clobber already-opened files.
  • When editing a file remotely, sometimes SecureFX prompted to save the file even if no changes were made and sometimes multiple prompts were issued.
  • When the tree view was turned off and turned back on, the hard drives were no longer displayed.
  • Session firewall settings were not being properly migrated.
  • SecureFX crashed if transfer protocol was set to a terminal protocol.
  • SSH2: In the Quick Connect dialog, if the hostname was blank and the "Upload" button was pressed, the upload failed. SecureCRT now prompts for the hostname.
  • SFTP: The SFTP_ATTRIB_HAVE_ACL flag was being set for SFTP version 3, which caused a protocol error.
  • SFTP: SecureFX was not setting the text transfer flag for SFTP version 4.
  • SFXCL: when invoked with no arguments, SFXCL crashed.

Also, something I forgot to mention in the history is that SecureFX now works with the Activator.

Changes in SecureFX 3.0 (Alpha) -- January 18, 2005

Changes:
  • Added a migration wizard that migrates SecureFX configuration data to the new format. It also optionally integrates SecureCRT configuration data if SecureCRT is installed.

  • The FTP Account field is now stored encrypted.
  • Added support for foregrounding the specific session selected in Activator.
  • Added support for "Use auto session".
  • The custom toolbar configuration is now stored in Global.ini instead of in the registry.
  • Added the "Import Session Data" menu item to the tools menu. This imports CuteFTP and WS_FTP data into SecureFX.

Bug fixes:
  • The global options related to the toolbar and status bar were not being saved.
  • In the Session Options dialog, most fields were greyed out after disconnected from a session and then editing it.
  • The New Session Wizard defaulted to "none" as the protocol.
  • The SSH2 compression level spinner control allowed values up to 100.
