Hi Adam,
I don't know about pointing to it as a shell since the requirement exists regarding Windows 10, but what happens if you type bash as a command in your chosen shell (CMD or PS)?

Why didn't I think of that?!
Hi Brenda,
Thanks for the suggestion, yep that works!! I tested with Cygwin (Cygwin.bat) and with Git Bash (bash.exe). Both worked and started a shell in the same window, which is perfect. This is awesome, thanks so much! -Adam Edit: So what I did was automate the login for the local connection like so, to start the Cygwin shell automatically. Logon Actions / Automate logon Expect: C:\Users\adam Send: C:\\Users\\adam\\Cygwin\\Cygwin.bat Last edited by avonnieda; 05-21-2019 at 02:25 PM. Reason: Added more info |

Hi bifmac,
It is a v8.6 pre-release build (meaning pre beta release). You need to contact us directly per this post if your OS meets the minimimum requirements.

Hi Tech Support,
Will you make this feature enabled for machines running Windows 10 but with builds before 1809? Ethan |

Quote:
SecureCRT's Local Shell support on Windows is dependent upon the Windows Pseudo Console API (ConPTY) which was introduced with Windows 10 build 1809. Since ConPTY is not available in earlier versions of Windows, SecureCRT cannot provide Local Shell functionality in any earlier version of Windows. |

Waiting on Windows Local Session
+1 Just adding myself to the list waiting for the Windows Local session feature. I understand the SecureCRT version 8.6 beta has it, but I only install the full edition versions.

Hi aucarter,
Thank you for expressing your interest in SecureCRT's recently implemented local shell functionality! As you stated, this functionality has yet to be added in an official release, however it will be officially available when SecureCRT 8.7 drops. Local shell support has been added to SecureCRT 8.7*. CMD.exe, PowerShell, or any console application can be specified as the local shell.
SecureCRT 8.7 is in beta. The installer can be downloaded here: https://www.vandyke.com/cgi-bin/rele...curecrt&beta=1 Maureen * Must be running Windows 10 build 1809 or later (or Server 2019) |
