Unhappy Strange characters when viewing man pages with SecureCRT

Hi Folks,

Anyone know what to do about these strange characters when reading man pages? Look at the OPTIONS section in the attached screen capture. Is there a specific charset I need to set in SecureCRT config or something?

Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks!

Set your LANG environment variable to C.

LANG=C
export LANG

Hi kencl,

Thanks for the question. You can find a FAQ about this at the following location:
http://www.vandyke.com/products/securecrt/faq/016.html
If you're currently connected to the remote machine and viewing a man page with those strange characters, open Options -> Session Options..., choose the Terminal -> Appearance category, and set the Character encoding to UTF-8. Press OK to save your settings, and then type Ctrl+L to cause a remote redraw/refresh and the strange characters should be gone.
Does this help to resolve the issue?
