How would I send multiple spacebar strokes when doing a 'more' pipe?

Good day.

How would one send multiple spacebar strokes until the end of the file is reached from a 'more <file>' command. Please note, there is no option to cat the entire file, the only way is to hit the spacebar until the end of the file is reached.

Regards,
Bjoern

Hi BjoernH,

In order to automate the "more-prompts", you would have to effectively send the command, wait for the command to be echoed and then start waiting for either the more-prompt or the shell-prompt (so that you will know when the end of the command output is reached).

Can you please give me an example of what your more-prompt and your shell-prompt actually look like?

Can you describe the manual process that you are trying to automate?

We do have an example script in which the handling of more-prompts is shown:

The example starts on line 215 of the "Cisco-SaveDeviceConfigToFile" script.
