SFTP Session Remote Directory Option

Hi there,

I am using SecureFX Version 7.2.3 (x64 build 500).. all I want to setup is, when I connect to particular session, I want to have particular directory automatically shown..

I tried to use the option

Session Properties --> SSH2 --> SFTP Session --> in the local directory I have mentioned my local directory where I want to download the file and in the remote Directory I have entered the directory path that is in my linux server..

when i login to that server in SecureCRT and do cd <directory>, it points to that directory.. but for file transfer it always shows me my home directory and every time i have to choose the remote directory.

Can you please help me to have this setting correctly? so that i dont have to select my remote directory again and again..

Hi skarthi146,

The configuration option you found is for SecureCRT's SFTP tab.

You configure the initial directories for SecureFX connections in the File Transfer category of Session Options.
You can employ the power of editing the Default session to make these changes to all of your existing and future sessions. Here are some links to tips and a video that provide more details about using the Default session to make mass changes to multiple sessions:
Note: In order for a "change" to be applied to all other sessions, the Default session's option/field you're targeting must actually be modified/different from its current value. This means that if the targeted field you want to apply to all other sessions is *already* set to the value you want, you must first change it to something *different* (and apply that "change") and then edit the Default session again to set the option to its *desired* value (and apply that "change").
In v7.3 and later, since you would be making a change that affects many sessions, the recommendation is to export your config as a backup as a best practice prior to any changes per this tip. For versions earlier than v7.3, see this tip on our website.
