Lightbulb Question - Modify the session text.

Hello,

First, Is it possible to write a script to modify the inbound text before it hits the screen? Input Steam manipulation ...

Example:
1. If the console writes 'hello', you would replace 'hello' with 'bye' so the user will only see 'bye'?

2. If the word "red" is see it adds "<RED>red</RED>" color tags?

If so, can someone share a working example. I don't see one in the pinned script samples thread.

( Example are for understanding, I realize they are not technical )

Thank you.
Derek

Hi Derek,

There is no way to control the stream of data that gets displayed to the screen nor can you alter the data received before it is displayed to the screen. What you are describing would require a custom emulation.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for the ability to use scripting to create a custom emulation. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include Feature Request - Forum Thread #14293 in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.
