Balancing Session workload - parallel

Do crt Sessions have a sessionID such that I could register them and split transactions among nodes?

I am open to ideas about how to accomplish this, I need to load balance what each session is doing due to my operating environment. Something simple like I need to load balance 50k transactions - splitting them 10k across 5 sessions.

Thanks,
Cory

Hi cory,

What version of SecureCRT are you using?

On what OS/platform?

Your use of the word "transaction" is puzzling to me. Do you mean sessions? (If so, what protocol are you using?)

Please elaborate on the problem you are trying to solve.

How are you doing the task presently (manually)?

I'm working in 9.0.1. I need to process about 450k transactions a day at my peak, and I figured the easiest way to do this would be to use a batch controller and asynchronously assign work to child nodes. I don't see a native session id built into SecureCRT so I would have to construct a identifier, which I guess is fine, but I was hoping someone had devised a better way.

I have a pretty large backlog and a single session can process about 3k transactions per hr (waitforstrings method). Just looking for better ways to manage the workload and utilize as much of the cpu / memory I have at my disposal.

Hi Aliasnumber1,

This has not answered my questions.

What is a transaction? What is a child node?

Without the help of a script, how would you do this in SecureCRT manually?

It sounds like you do have a script. What does the script do?
