Paste as Quotation

Paste as Quotation - Pastes text from the Windows Clipboard prefaced by the quotation character (usually ">").

Sad to read that in the help files.
Any chance Vandyke could change this so that we have a bit more control about what this option does?

For me paste as quotation would mean adding the double quotes in front and behind what I'm copying.
ex.: this item -> "this item"

I need this so often to demarcate variables that have spaces in the name.
I'm sure other people would use it with different characters or only in front or behind the copied text though so a bit configurability would be ideal.

Hi koenv,

I have created a feature request to make the quote character definable. Should we do this in the future, we will post to this thread.

If you would like to be notified directly, please complete and submit the form at the following location:

Hi koenv,

I think that you may already be able to meet your needs with a button or a mapped key.

You could configure a button on the button bar or map a key to send the following string:
"\v"
Does this meet your needs?

The ability to specify the quote character(s) and whether the pasted text should be inserted between the quote character(s) has been added to a pre-beta version of SecureCRT. If you would like to try it, please email me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.
