Font for tabs / connect dialogue / options

SecureCRT appears to use two different fonts:

The menu bar, related drop down menus, status bar and the right mouse menu use
MS Shell Dlg, as one would expect from most windows programs.

However, the tabs, connect dialogue and option windows use Microsoft Sans Serif which does not look very nice on XP, especially with ClearType enabled.

Would it be too difficult to switch to MS Shell Dlg throughout? By the way, the situation in SecureFX is very much the same.

We just made a change to use the more current common controls, which will be in the next beta. I will be interested to hear if this addresses the font issue.

Maureen, thanks for the reply, will be looking forward to the next beta. In the meantime, I came accross some further information suggesting that the font issue could be fixed through consistent use of the MS Shell Dlg font mapping along with DS_SHELLFONT windows style bits instead of MS Sans Serif. There are further details on a forum associated with another program I use daily, Total Commander, see http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopi...highlight=font, and on MSDN, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...l/nls_4qcn.asp.

Peter,

Thanks for posting this information. Our programmers were able to use it to make the recommended font changes. This will be in the next beta.

Maureen,

The font issues have, indeed, been completely solved in beta 3, both for SecureCRT and SecureFX. Many thanks.

Another minor comment: The blue bitmap at the top of the 'About SecureFX' dialogue box is centered, but the analogous bitmap at the top of the 'About SecureCRT' dialogue box is left-aligned. Perhaps the latter should be centered, as well?

Could you give a little more detail or send screenshots to me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com? They look the same to me.

Thanks,
Maureen

The bitmap in both About boxes should now be centered. This change will be in beta 5.
