Auto save session log for every connection

Hi all,

Is it possible to save every ssh/telnet session with all commands/output automatically every time?

I am logging in to tens of random network devices daily and i don't want to configure every session to save the logs into a text file every time..

some function that will take the ip we type into the connection bar text box, creates a txt file with this ip as filename and saves[appends] everything to it.

Thank you.

Hi vladas.

If you configure logging in your Default session, you can propagate the change to all of your existing sessions. The Default session is what new sessions and Quick Connect sessions are based on, so configuring logging there should cover every scenario.

You'll probably want to have unique logs for each session that would be relatively easy to find in the folder where you plan to store your logs, so you'll want to use custom log data substitutions as part of the log file name. Here is how you could configure logging in SecureCRT

- Click on Options and choose "Edit default session" to open the Session Options dialog for your Default session.

- I would recommend using something like the following as your log file name:

C:\SecureCRTLogs\%H-%Y-%M-%D_%h-%m-%s.log

%H will include the hostname in the filename
%Y - year
%M - month
%D - day
%h - hour
%m - minute
%s - second

- In the Options section of the Log File settings enable "Start log upon connect" so that logging starts automatically when your session connects.

When you are finished configuring logging, you should see a popup message asking you if you would like to propagate the change to all of your existing sessions.

Is this what you are looking for?
