New feature request

I haven't seen anywhere on SecureCRT a way to enable this so I am assuming its not there, what I am looking for is the support for Xterm-256 colors, I would like to be able to use 256 colors in terminal (since its supported) and not the classical standard 16 ansi colors.

Hi Joker,

The only thing required to use Xterm 256 colors is enable ANSI Color.

Are you able to use Xterm 256 colors if you enable ANSI Color in Session Options / Terminal / Emulation?

Here is a Perl script written by Todd Larason which could be useful if you would like to test your Xterm 256 colors. I've attached a JPG file showing the results of the test after enabling ANSI Color in SecureCRT, connecting to the server, then running the Perl script on the server.

Does this information help?

I've already enabling ANSI color in session options, infacts i have a colored terminal, and the .pl script works and i can see the 256 colors, but hmm doesn't seems to me that i can see more than the usual standard 16 colors, maybe it depends on the application running on terminal?

Yes, the remote application is the key component after enabling ANSI color. The remote must send the correct escape sequences to display various colors.
