SecureCRT for Mac OS X available now

I'm pleased to announce that a SecureCRT for Mac OS X beta was released today. You can download an installer here:

http://www.vandyke.com/download/securecrt/beta.html

With few exceptions, this Mac version has the same functionality as the Windows version, including advanced session management, strong security, terminal emulation, and automation capabilities. This release also introduces cross-platform scripting with Python and a "Send Binary" file transfer option.

You can read more about this new release here:

I am quite curious about the new version. Unfortunately the link you posted states no beta release to be available.

Are you using the first link or the second? Do you get an error message when you try to download the beta installer?

Problem solved!

Link is working now.

I got no error, but the page that says that no beta version is currently available.

I'm glad to hear that the link is working now. My guess is that the page had been cached by your browser and just needed to be refreshed.

Maureen,

i'm using the trial for testing secureCRT on my MAC and wanted to know how can you make it the default program for establishing the different sessions

ie. if I have a link on a web page for telnet://x.x.x.x:2002 , how do I make securecrt open it.

Tried already clicking on the link and on the launch application dialog selecting secureCRT but that only opens up the application, but not actually connect the session.

appreciate the help

Currently, it's not possible to set SecureCRT as the default telnet handler on Mac OS X. This request is in our development database. If it doesn't get implemented in version 6.6, it will be considered for a future version. A note will be posted here if it gets implemented. If you would also like to be notified by e-mail, send a note to Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.

This functionality has been implemented in a pre-beta version of SecureCRT for Mac. If you would be interested in trying it, please send e-mail to me at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.

Hi Moureen,

My first post here :-)

I saw your update, Beta version is available for MAC. I check the site but download is only available US . When this will be active in APAC?

Thanks and regards,

Hello Liju,

Downloads are not limited to only the US, but by other factors.

The policy for downloads is explained on our website here.

The registration for a download account helps ensure that we are compliant with U.S. Homeland Security export restrictions for strong encryption software. This is a one-time only requirement.

Have you attempted to register for a download account here?
