RHEL 7 support?

Hi all! Long time SecureCRT user but first time poster. I was actually wondering if now that Red Hat Ent. Linux 7 and its derivatives are out/coming (CentOS, Scientific, etc...) if SecureCRT would eventually support these distros.

Love your product. Thank you!

Hi aldoushxle,

Thanks for the post and kind words. It is possible that a future release of SecureCRT will target RHEL7. I have created a feature request in our SecureCRT enhancement database. Should a future release of SecureCRT have an RHEL7 installer, we will post to this thread.

If you would like to be notified directly, please complete and submit the form at the following location:
Submit Feature Request
If you encounter a problem installing or launching SecureCRT on RHEL7, etc. it may be caused by the different Python version and a symlink should resolve this issue.

If there are other dependencies that are missing or different, installation of the dependency or symlinking to the different version may help.

Is this helpful?

Hi All,

I am happy to post that we have a pre-release version of SecureCRT that is considered compatible with RHEL7.

If anyone is interested in testing it out, please send an email to support@vandyke.com with a subject of Attn: Support- RHEL7 Installer Request.

Please note that the version of SecureCRT that is released after 7.3.x will include support for RHEL7.
