Crash when SSH1 and SFTP are configured

When I want to view the property of a connection that has SSH1 and SFTP configured, SecureCRT crash with: "The instruction at "0x5f4012a1" referenced memory..."

Similarly, if I modify a connection that is set for SSH2 and SFTP to SSH1 and SFTP, SecureCRT crash...

It is impossible to use an "imported" connection that is set to SSH1 and SFTP, since it can not be modified without crashing SecureCRT, and trying to connect will also crash. The work around is to delete those connections and recreate with SSH1 and None for file transfer.

SecureCRT version 5.0.0 (build 722)

Thanks.

Hi,

Can you download the beta 1 release (build 749) of SecureCRT and see if you still have this problem? You can get the release from here:

http://www.vandyke.com/download/securecrt/beta.html

Thanks,
Daniel

My issue has to deal with SSH also; I was getting CRT to crash every time I tried to connect to one of my servers using SSH1 or SSH2 through a socks 5 connection. I upgraded to build 749 and the crashes stopped. But, if I connect via SSH1 through socks I get a time out. If I connect via SSH2 (password only) through socks I get the following message: "SecureCRT has disconnected from the server. Reason: A received packet had an invalid structure."

I have the Firewall Properties type set to SOCKS version 5 (no authentication)

Is your SSH2 session configured to use compression?

If so, can you try disabling compression for that session and see if you get the same error?

We're aware of the SSH1 problem with SOCKS proxies, and are working on a fix for it. Would you be interested in testing out a preliminary version (i.e. not ready for beta release yet) of SecureCRT with that fix?

Thanks,
Daniel

Yes, I would be interested in testing out a preliminary version. Just let me know.
