SecureCRT SSH login dialog and focus when starting session from jump list

If I start a session from the Windows taskbar jump list i.e. right-click taskbar icon and click a session under "Recent" - the resulting "Enter Secure Shell Password" dialog is not focused, so it requires an extra click on that dialog to enter the password after SecureCRT opens.

It'd be a smoother transition to have this login dialog automatically focused so that you can just start typing as soon as the session opens. This is in fact what already happens when you launch a session from the Session Manager tab from within SecureCRT. It only happens when launching from the jump list.

Is this by-design? If not, can it be improved?

SecureCRT 8.7.3 on Windows 10 2020H2 64-bit

Thanks.

Hi mattbg,

Thanks for the report! I agree that it would be a smoother transition for the new dialog window to be in focus after opening a session from the taskbar.

I've asked our DEV/QA team to look into this issue further. I don't yet have any ETA as to when/if the problem might be resolved, but I will post updates here as they become available.
